HOW EFFECTIVE IS SALINE VS. GLYCOLIC ACID TATTOO REMOVAL?
Both saline and glycolic tattoo removal is popular because it is safer than other tattoo removal procedures. It is effective without creating scar tissue, which is common with laser tattoo removal. In addition, both saline and glycolic acid removal is ideal for those with sensitive skin, and those who have had an allergic reaction to tattoo pigment.

I find that the glycolic acid tattoo removal method to be a bit more effective than saline. The glycolic acid breaks up the pigment particles and lifts it immediately to the surface.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?
Results vary from client to client, this is lightening and there is no guarantee the area needing removal completely go away. However, most clients get the desired results within 2-6 sessions. Each session requires 8 weeks in between of healing time before another removal session can be performed.

DOES SALINE/ GLYCOLIC ACID REMOVAL HURT?

It is the least invasive and least painful form of tattoo or permanent make-up removal. Moreover, a numbing agent will be used to lessen sensitivities.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING AND AFTER THE PROCEDURE

During the Procedure:

  • Some clients (not all) will bleed and get very red, which is normal for some.

  • Some clients will bleed a lot, some will bleed less.

  • Some clients will get super red, some do not.

  • Some clients swell, some do not.

  • If at any time the skin seems to fragile, the procedure will be stopped.

AFTER THE PROCEDURE

  • Aftercare is VERY important to the success of saline/glycolic acid removal.

  • Each client will be provided a very detailed Aftercare Sheet, vitamin E Oil and a Follow-Up Appointment

  • You WILL Scab. This is part of the process. Do not help the scabs fall off, let them fall off naturally.

  • The area can stay pink or discolored for several weeks as the area heals.

  • On some clients, it may take a few months for all the pink/redness to completely heal away (This may be post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation)

  • There may be some clients that experience the skin always being slightly discolored.

WHAT ARE THE PRIMARY DIFFERENCES BETWEEN LASER AND SALINE OR GLYCOLIC ACID TATTOO REMOVAL:

  • With laser tattoo removal, the laser breaks up the ink of the tattoo and then the broken up ink is absorbed into the body. In saline removal, most of the ink is lifted up through the surface of the skin. Although the body does try and excrete the ink particles after laser, this is a non issue with saline or glycolic acid tattoo removal. It just comes up and out!

  • In laser removal, different laser machines emits certain wavelengths which can limit the target of removal to only certain colors of the ink.  Laser is also unable to remove white because when an object appears white, it is reflecting the entire spectrum of visible wavelengths of light and not absorbing light. This means you cannot target it with a laser.

  • Saline and glycolic acid removal is not limited in removal of different inks or pigments, it works on ALL colors of pigment.

  • If brow removal is warranted, both saline and glycolic acid removal will preserve your brow hair. Laser tattoo removal can end with removal of existing brow hair and it may or may not ever grow back.

In short, saline tattoo removal/lightening offers a less invasive method of removing unwanted cosmetic tattoos and body tattoos. A week of scabbing is definitely better than a lifetime of looking at something you are unhappy with.

SALINE TATTOO REMOVAL/LIGHTENING

What is saline tattoo removal? Saline tattoo removal is an effective, all-natural, cost friendly alternative to laser.  The way it works is a hypertonic saline solution is implanted over your existing permanent makeup or small tattoo. Implanting the solution into the skin breaks up the healed pigment, and begins to lift the pigment out of the skin by osmosis.
